Among the quiet streets of Bloomsbury sits the International Lutheran Student Centre (ILSC). The Centre houses around 80 post-graduate students from around the world, from all faiths and none, who have come to London to stay for a few months to a few years. While their areas of study are as diverse as their nationalities, they are tied together in the community built here at the ILSC. Students come together to celebrate their diversity and share their culture through student-led events throughout the year. In past years students have organised Lunar New Year celebrations, international suppers, and Brazilian nights.

Based at the ILSC is the Lutheran Student Chaplain, Rev’d Sarah Farrow. The Lutheran Student Chaplain offers pastoral care to the students living here at the ILSC but also to Lutheran students in Great Britain. Worship services are held at the ILSC such as the annual Thomas Mass and a regular evening Eucharist to which all are welcome. The chaplaincy also offers other pastoral care offices and support to students and works closely with other Lutheran churches in London, one of which is the English-speaking congregation, St Anne’s Lutheran Church. The Lutheran Student Chaplaincy gives Lutheran students a home away from home while they study abroad in the greatest city in the world – London!
